The above photo is of the central doorway to New Court, which was constructed in 1825 as an extension to St. John's College. This was the largest individual building that any college had constructed at that time and contains elaborate Gothic details throughout.  The above scene depicts what one sees from within New Court as one gazes out onto the vast exterior courtyard, just as twilight begins to set in.
